Nursery Sunday School

(Infants-two year olds)

Northminster provides a nursery for infants through two years old.  The nursery is located to the left of the Bible Discovery Room  in the Education building.

This year all preschool, kindergarten, and primary age children will be using the “Walk With Me” curriculum.  The materials are FAITHFUL to scripture, teacher FRIENDLY, and most importantly, FUN for kids of all ages!

Preschool Sunday School

(3-4 year olds)

The preschool Sunday School class is geared for children who are 3-4 years of age by Oct. 16th of the present year.  This class will use the Walk With Me: Preschool Edition curriculum.  Each session contains songs, rhymes, colorful pictures, and engaging activities that will help to make the Bible real and exciting for some of our very youngest learners!

Kindergarten-2nd Grade

The Walk With Me curriculum at this level is divided into nine four-session units.  Children will be engaged through both discussion and various activities as they learn the Biblical stories.  Walk With Me will help children connect the story of the Bible with their own experiences, and to live in the world as disciples of Jesus Christ!

 

3rd-5th Grades

This class will also use the Walk With Me curriculum. At this level children will experience a strong emphasis on learning from other cultures and other peoples, on seeing God’s story though different eyes.  Children will see the Biblical stories come to life through the use of Posters, Comic books, Take-home papers, Trivia or game cards, Broadsheets, and Magazines,

 

Kids’ Club

This year Kids’ Club will be using a special edition of the popular children’s game, Guess Who?, to uncover a new Bible Character each week!  Kids’ Club is a mid-week program for all children Kindergarten-5th grade.  Children will gather for a time of recreation, music, and Bible study on Wednesday nights from 5:00-6:00 pm.  During this hour each group (K-2 & 3-5) will take part in music/chime choir and recreation and devotion.  The Kids’ Club choir participates in worship on a regular basis throughout the school year and will be involved in a Spring musical this year!  Kids’ Club runs from September-mid-May and does not meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month due to Committee meetings.

Youth Sunday School

Natalie Carroll, Nolan Coggins, Carol Schierlmann

Both the 68’er and Senior High youth will meet in the “MU” (Mobile Unit) which is located behind the fellowship hall, during the Sunday School hour.  This year the youth will partake in a curriculum created JUST for them.  The youth are challenged to a game of Blinko!  Want to know what Blinko! Is? Come by the MU and check it out!

 

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL

Doulos Class: Student-led

This year the Doulos class is focusing its attention on various Books of the Bible.  The year will begin with the book of Second Corinthians.  Future topics will be decided by the class.  The study guide will come from the Interpretation Bible Studies.  This class is open to everyone and meets in the DCE’s office.

 

Bible Discovery

Lucy Davis

The Bible Discovery class uses the Present Word curriculum to dive into the scriptures in a discussion formatted class.  Join us!

Spirituality Class

The Spirituality class is a student-led gathering that uses current books that focus on faith, spirituality, & contemporary issues, as its curriculum. Join us!

 

Coffee Talk

James Bernhardt

This class meets in the multi-purpose room and is a discussion class focusing on issues of faith and society.  Each class is “self-contained”, so anyone may participate.  Coffee is provided!  Study topics include current events and are usually announced through the church-wide email.
