We're happy that you have chosen to worship God this morning.
If you are a visitor to the congregation, we give you our sincere welcome. If you do not have a
church home in this area and would like to know more about this church, please speak to Rev. Bernhardt on your way out, or
call the church office, 324-6634.
Elder of the month is Deb Caywood.
The Greeter on the door is Jane Grace. Ministering to our children in the nurseries today are Michele
Francois in the infant/toddler room and Kristin King in Children’s Church. Acolyte
for today is Lauren Mann.
A fellowship time immediately follows worship each Sunday. You’re cordially
invited to remain for this special time. Bob Johns and Bud Caywood are hosting today’s fellowship.
Stop Hunger Now In Haiti!
Please consider this community initiative to provide 200,000 meals – in one day! – to our suffering neighbors
in Haiti. On Saturday, March 27, 2010, Northminster will participate in a program called “Stop
Hunger Now”, sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Catawba and Lincoln Counties. Volunteers will work
in shifts at the First Methodist Church in Conover to package meals comprised of rice, soy protein, dehydrated vegetables
and a vitamin fortified mix, enough to provide six meals. Northminster is sponsoring one of the tables
for the event and we need you to help us staff our table for one of three shifts. Volunteers of
all ages are welcome. Find information and registration forms on the table in the entry/narthex.
Stop Hunger Now!
Next Saturday, March
13, Northminster hosts the rescheduled Valentine’s party for some of the residents of the
J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. This annual event is lunch and entertainment for the developmentally
delayed adults who live there. Our own Natalie Carroll is on staff and she, with a host of other staff,
escort these friends on this rare outing that they look forward to all year. Your help in the kitchen,
or serving, welcoming and befriending makes this event a success. If you can, devote a couple of hours
next Saturday doing the work of love with our sisters and brothers. Contact Natalie, or Andy Corcoran,
or James Bernhardt.
In an effort to save paper, we are no longer including
Wednesday Night Reservations forms in every bulletin. Reservation forms are available on the table
in the Narthex. The menu will be printed in the bulletin each week and it will continue to be posted
online. You are also able to make reservations online. The menu for this Wednesday’s meal is: Spaghetti and meatballs,
salad rolls, drink and dessert.
MARCH NEWSLETTERS are in the
mailboxes. Please check your mailboxes to save on stamps. Extra copies
of the newsletter are in the narthex for our visitors.
A special thank you to Don
and Elizabeth Coble and Harrison and Tommie Jahn, who worked in the Hickory Soup Kitchen
the first Tuesday in March .
